《彭博资讯》知名科技记者古尔曼(Mark Gurman)近日爆料指出，受华为、三星折叠手机影响，苹果前执行长库克最终拍板定下了要坚持做折叠机的战略方向。古尔曼表示，苹果内部早已秘密启动折叠萤幕技术研发，而计划真正提速的转捩点出现在2020年前后。当时库克结束亚洲行，在中国等市场亲眼看到大量消费者上手华为、三星折叠手机，当下便判定苹果必须入局，返美后立刻推动专案加速。不过，在库克正式立项之前，苹果团队已就相关技术机密进行多年研发。公开资料显示，苹果至少最早在2016年就申请了可折叠相关技术专利
